Instructions on Residence Permits for Short-term Employment for foreigners

 I Application Eligibility

1. Works for Chinese partners including the continuation of a scientific study, a special technology, supervision of a project, and etc.

2. Coaches or athletes for a trial in Chinese Sport Administrations

3. Film documentary or advertisement

4. Fashion shows ( car models, print advertisement models and etc. )

5. Foreign-related commercial performance

6. Other works recognized by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security

All above listed are requested to apply for a Z visa in advance and the duration of working period should not exceed 90 days.

Supporting Documents and Relative Requirement

A foreign national who is holding a Z visa with the notice as"required to apply for residence Permit within 30 days from the date of entry" meantime the employer or the host organization is registered in, or the first performance venue is in Beijing, then applicant should apply for a residence Permit within the term.

1. Valid passport or other international travel documents

2. Completely filled VISA / STAY PERMIT / RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION FORM with recent half-length, white background, bareheaded, full-faced 2-inch color photo. Please fill in the application form in black ink or sign pen.

3. Valid accommodation registration of the hotel of the application provided by the local police station or present residence.

4. Approval certificate (performance groups with list of performers) by Chinese Competent Culture Department and Approval of short-term Employment for Foreigners working in P. R. C are requested for foreign-related commercial performance groups or individuals,

5.Employment Certificate issued by Human Resource and Social Security Department and short- time Employment for foreigners working in P. R. C are necessary for the other employers.

6. Other supporting materials that the Exit And Entry Administration Department requires.

 Timeline for Application

Foreigners can apply for employment residence permits with validity of 90 days.

Points for Attention

1. The applicant shall go through a face-to-face interview. However, for applicants who are aged

under 16 or above 60, or inconvenient to travel due

to disability, the host person, or the applicant's relatives, or a particular service agency can submit the application on behalf of the applicant (a copy of the trustee's ID is required). Nonetheless, if the Exit And Entry Administration Department notifies the applicant that an interview is necessary, the applicant must go through the interview personally.

2. Z visas with a bilingual observation as"Allowed to work only within the period of time indicated in the approve shall not be extended or changed to other types of visa.

3. Visa offices in cities of a host company or premiere performance accept application of residence permit. If a foreign actor has obtained a residence permit in one of the offices, there is no need to renew it in other cities during the period of commercial performances.

4. If a foreign national who has finished his/her short-term job wants to find employment in China, as long as his permit of stay is still valid, he or she can consult with the Human Resources and Social Security Department about the employment issue.

5. Approval of Short-term Employment and a Z visa should be available before coming into China, with no exception of visa-free countries.

6. For the above  · -stated materials, the original documents need to be verified, and submit the copies.

7. Any application materials in foreign language (except English) should be translated into Chinese by qualified translation Company before submission.

8. Applicant who doesn't nullify cancel China's household registration should apply after the cancellation of household registration. The relevant cancellation certificate issued by local police station of the registration shall be submitted if the Exit-entry Administration Department consider it necessary.

9. Foreigners under 18 who submit the application for the first time in China must submit their birth certificates, passports of parents and overseas residence certification.
